WARNING
Do not allow children to play with seat belts inside the Nissan Armada. Many seating positions are equipped with Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR) seat belts. If a belt becomes wrapped around a child’s neck while ALR mode is active, it may tighten and cause serious injury or death, even if the vehicle is stationary.
If this occurs, immediately unbuckle the seat belt. For the center seat of the 3rd row in the Nissan Armada, the connector tongue 1 can also be released by inserting a suitable tool, such as a key, into the connector buckle A.
If the belt cannot be released, free the child immediately by cutting the seat belt using an appropriate tool such as scissors or a knife.
Children need adults to help protect them.
They must always be properly restrained when traveling in the Nissan Armada.
In addition to the information provided in this manual, further guidance on child safety can be obtained from healthcare professionals, educators, and official traffic safety organizations. Every child is unique, so it is essential to choose the most appropriate method of transportation based on their size and age when using the Nissan Armada.
There are three primary types of child restraint systems:
The correct type of child restraint depends on the child’s size and developmental stage. Infants under approximately 1 year of age and weighing less than 20 lbs (9 kg) should be placed in rear-facing child restraints.
Forward-facing child restraints are suitable for children who have outgrown rear-facing seats and are at least 1 year old.
Booster seats are used for older children who no longer fit in forward-facing restraints, helping position the vehicle’s lap and shoulder belt correctly.
WARNING
Infants and children require specialized protection in the Nissan Armada. Standard seat belts may not fit properly. The shoulder belt may contact the face or neck, and the lap belt may not sit correctly on the hips.
In an accident, improperly positioned seat belts can cause serious or fatal injuries. Always use appropriate child restraint systems.
All U.S. states and Canadian provinces or territories require the use of approved child restraint systems for infants and young children.
A child restraint in the Nissan Armada can be secured using either the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system or the vehicle’s seat belt system.
NISSAN strongly recommends that all children and pre-teens travel in the rear seats of the Nissan Armada, as studies show this is the safest location when properly restrained.
This recommendation is particularly important because the Nissan Armada is equipped with a supplemental restraint system (airbags) for the front passenger seat.
Proper child safety practices in the Nissan Armada help ensure maximum protection and reduce the risk of injury in all driving situations.
