Description
The parking brake braking force is low and the vehicle moves backward when parked on an incline.
Diagnosis Procedure
REAPPLY THE PARKING BRAKE (1)

Pull the parking brake switch, and apply the parking brake.

Pull the parking brake switch 2 seconds ore mode.
Is the vehicle moving backward?
YES>>GO TO 2.
NO>>NORMAL
PERFORM THE SELF-DIAGNOSIS
With CONSULT
Perform self-diagnosis for “ABS”.
Is any DTC detected?
YES>>Check the DTC. Refer to DTC Index.
NO>>GO TO 3.
CHECK REAR DISC BRAKE SYSTEM
Check the rear disc brake system.

Rear brake pad: Refer to Inspection and Adjustment.

Rear disc rotor: Refer to Inspection and Adjustment.
-
Rear brake caliper (and parking brake actuator): Refer to Inspection.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 4.
NO>>Repair or replace error-detected pars.

Rear brake pad: Refer to Removal and Installation.
-
Rear disc rotor: Refer to Removal and Installation.

Rear brake caliper (and parking brake actuator): Refer to Removal and Installation.
REAPPLY THE PARKING BRAKE (2)
Pull the parking brake switch again.
Is the vehicle moving backward?
YES>>Replace the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO>>NORMAL
