Torque converter      
: Always replace after every disassembly.
: Apply ATF

Removal and Installation

WARNING:

  • Jacking up or lift up the vehicle may the vehicle height to go down which cause a personal injury and/or damage to the air suspension component parts. Refer to Precaution for when Jacking and Lifting Up the vehicle with Electronic Air Suspension System.

REMOVAL

Remove A/T assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation (2WD), Removal and Installation (4WD).

Remove torque converter by holding it firmly and turning while pulling straight out.

Remove seal ring from input shaft.

CAUTION:

Never reuse seal ring.

Remove converter housing oil seal.

CAUTION:

Never reuse converter housing oil seal.

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:

  • Never reuse seal ring.

  • Never reuse converter housing oil seal.

  • Check dimension (A) between torque converter and torque converter housing as shown.

    Dimension (A) : Refer to Torque Converter.
    (B) : Scale
    (C) : Straight edge

Adjustment

ADJUSTMENT AFTER INSTALLATION

When replaced the torque converter, perform "TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH POINT LEARNING". Refer to Descripton.
