Nissan Armada 2025-2026 Service and Repair Manual: Torque Converter Clutch Point Learning

Descripton

WARNING:

  • Jacking up or lift up the vehicle may the vehicle height to go down which cause a personal injury and/or damage to the air suspension component parts. Refer to Precaution for when Jacking and Lifting Up the vehicle with Electronic Air Suspension System.

TCM memorizes a torque converter clutch meet point, and this enables accurate control.

Torque converter clutch point learning must be performed when the following operation is performed. For work procedure, refer to Work Procedure.

  • Replacing control valve & TCM

  • Replacing torque converter

Work Procedure

WARNING:

  • Jacking up or lift up the vehicle may the vehicle height to go down which cause a personal injury and/or damage to the air suspension component parts. Refer to Precaution for when Jacking and Lifting Up the vehicle with Electronic Air Suspension System.

CHECK DTC

With CONSULT

  1. Start the engine.

  2. Check DTC of all systems.

Is any DTC detected.

YES>>

Check DTC detected item.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

PERFORM TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH POINT LEARNING

With CONSULT

  1. Check that the A/T fluid temperature is in the range of 60°C to 100°C (140°F to 212°F).

  2. Check that the engine coolant temperature is in the range of 70°C to 110°C (158°F to 230°F).

  3. Turn off air conditioner.

  4. Apply the parking brake.

  5. Release the accelerator pedal, depress the brake pedal and stop the vehicle completely.

  6. Shift to the D position.

  7. Select “Work supports” in “TRANSMISSION”.

  8. Select "Torque converter clutch point learning".

  9. Perform learning according to the CONSULT display.
