Nissan Armada 2025-2026 Owner's Manual: Basic information

WARNING

  • Never attempt to lift two wheels of the Nissan Armada off the ground while the engine is running and shift the transmission into any drive or reverse position. This improper procedure may cause severe drivetrain damage or unexpected vehicle movement, potentially leading to serious damage or personal injury.
  • Do not test a Nissan Armada equipped with All-Mode 4WD on a two-wheel dynamometer or similar testing equipment, even if the remaining wheels are elevated. Always inform service personnel that your Nissan Armada is equipped with a 4WD system before any diagnostic procedure. Using incorrect testing equipment may result in drivetrain failure or uncontrolled vehicle movement, creating a significant safety risk.

CAUTION

  • Avoid operating the Nissan Armada in 4H or 4L modes on dry, hard-surfaced roads. Driving under these conditions in 4WD modes can lead to unnecessary drivetrain stress, increased tire wear, higher fuel consumption, and noticeable drivetrain noise.

If a Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) warning message appears while driving your Nissan Armada on dry pavement, take immediate corrective action:

    • If the vehicle is in 4H mode, switch the 4WD control to AUTO mode. Note that if the system is operating in fail-safe mode, it may remain in 4H even on paved roads.
    • If the Nissan Armada is in 4L mode (if equipped), bring the vehicle to a complete stop. Depress the brake pedal, shift the transmission into "N" (Neutral), and then switch the 4WD selector to AUTO mode. In fail-safe conditions, the system may remain locked in 4L regardless of surface conditions.

If the 4WD warning message continues to be displayed after performing these steps, have your Nissan Armada inspected as soon as possible. It is strongly recommended to consult an authorized NISSAN dealer for professional service.

    • Continuing to drive the Nissan Armada while the 4WD warning message is active may result in serious transfer case damage and costly repairs.
    • After disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, the Nissan Armada 4WD system may automatically reset from 4L (if equipped) to AUTO mode.

If the 4WD indicator alternates between "AUTO" and "4L" and then continues blinking on "AUTO", press the brake pedal and shift the transmission into "N" (Neutral). This procedure will stop the blinking indicator and restore normal system operation.
