Nissan Armada 2025-2026 Service and Repair Manual: Transfer Assembly

Transfer assembly
: N·m (kg-m, ft-lb)

Removal and Installation

WARNING:

  • Jacking up or lift up the vehicle may the vehicle height to go down which cause a personal injury and/or damage to the air suspension component parts. Refer to Precaution for when Jacking and Lifting Up the vehicle with Electronic Air Suspension System.

REMOVAL

Disconnect negative battery terminal. Refer to Removal and Installation.

Remove rear propeller shaft. Refer to Removal and Installation .

Remove front propeller shaft. Refer to Removal and Installation.

Disconnect transfer control actuator and transfer range position sensor harness connectors and separate harnesses from transfer assembly.

Disconnect transfer cam position sensor harness connectors and separate harnesses from transfer assembly.

Remove transfer breather hose. Refer to Removal and Installation.

Remove main muffler. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM : Removal & Installation.

Support transfer assembly and transmission assembly with a jack.

CAUTION:

Secure transfer assembly and transmission assembly to a jack.

Remove rear engine mounting cross member. Refer to Removal and Installation.

Lower jack to the position where the top transfer mounting bolts can be removed.

Remove transfer mounting bolts and separate transfer from transmission.

CAUTION:

Secure transfer assembly and transmission assembly to a jack.

INSTALLATION

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Inspection and Adjustment

INSPECTION AFTER INSTALLATION

Check fluid leakage and the fluid level. Refer to Inspection.

ADJUSTMENT AFTER INSTALLATION

When replacing transfer assembly, performe writing unit parameter. Refer to Description.
